The two met in Melbourne at a promotional event for Nike.

Williams is also in town for the Australian Open, as she sets her sights on her eighth tournament win in Melbourne.

While Kerr considers Williams the greatest of all time, the forward has a pretty impressive list of achievements herself.

The W-League top goalscorer was recently honoured at the Women's Ballon d'Or as she placed fifth after winning consecutive Golden Boot awards in the NWSL and W-League.

The ceremony was the first in 63 years to celebrate and honour the top female footballers with a women's award.

Kerr recently helped Perth Glory to a 1-0 win over Canberra with an 85th-minute winner, maintaining second spot on the W-League table.

Kerr's first-time meeting with Serena will be sure to inspire her in both her W-League season and her preparation for the World Cup in June.

The Matilda is next in action for the Glory tomorrow night against Newcastle, meanwhile, Williams begins her Australian Open campaign against Tatjana Maria on Tuesday.
