Tottenham midfielder Sandro feels that the expected arrival of his Brazilian team-mate Paulinho will help the club climb up the Premier League table.
Tottenham's interest in the 24-year-old Paulinho is believed to be reaching a conclusion, with a deal – which is likely to see Corinthians receive around £17million – expected to be concluded this week.
Paulinho scored two goals and played an important role in Brazil's recent FIFA Confederations Cup victory.
And his compatriot Sandro believes Paulinho can be a hit in England, adding that he will do his best to make him feel welcome at White Hart Lane.
"I think he has what it takes to do well here," Sandro told Globo Esporte.
"This is a club with a great structure. It has been fighting for the top positions in the last few years and playing in European competitions. Paulinho will certainly help us become even stronger.
"I can only say 'welcome to Tottenham, Paulinho'. I am very happy, I will try to do the same thing Gomes did when I arrived. He was very important when I came and helped me adapt.
"If Paulinho needs me, I will help. I welcome him."
