Borussia Dortmund manager Klopp allowed Goetze - who has agreed to join Bayern Munich before the start of next season - to train a few days after he suffered a hamstring injury in their semi-final second leg against Real Madrid.

The playmaker subsequently further aggravated the problem and had to miss the final, which Dortmund lost to his future employers.

And Santana, who has since left the Westfalenstadion to join rivals Schalke, believes the blame for Goetze's absence lies firmly with Klopp.

He told ESPN Brasil: "Our coach was stupid. Mario felt a knock in the game against Real Madrid and was then taken to a Munich hospital.

"When he returned, the coach let him train on the Tuesday. He should not have done so because there was an important game on Saturday."
It is now thought Germany international Goetze - who scored 31 goals in his time at Dortmund - may miss the start of next season due to the injury.
