The Milan forward began his career with the Brazilian outfit before departing to Real Madrid eight years ago, and made a brief return on loan from Manchester City in 2010.

Rodgrigues has now claimed the 29-year-old could rejoin Santos in order to help soften the blow of losing Neymar to Barcelona ahead of the 2013-14 campaign.

"As soon as the transfer market opens, we will step forward for Robinho," he was quoted as saying.

"Of course, Neymar is irreplaceable for everything he represents, but with the departure of our star, the efforts to create a winning side become even more pressing.

"Therefore, we are interested in Robinho."

Robinho's Milan contract is set to expire in 2014.
