Riccardo Saponara took squeaky bum time too literally with his goal celebration
Sampdoria’s, Riccardo Saponara celebrated his 99th-minute equaliser in a rather unusual fashion, after leaping into the stands as the supporters managed to pull down his pants.
It seemed that Sampdoria had lost the game to a late winner, courtesy of a penalty from Lazio striker, Ciro Immobile in the 96th minute.
However, Saponara provided some magic with a karate-kick style finish applied to a long ball lobbed forward as the game finished 2-2.
Saponara later shared an image of the celebration with the caption ’99 ways of celebration’.
Saponara seemed to lay the blame of his wardrobe malfunction on fellow teammate Lorenzo Tonelli in his Instagram post.
“Thanks to all my team-mates who shared with me this crazy moment – especially that prankster Lorenzi Tonelli.”
Saponara later explained his relief to DAZN: “We played great in the first half but we didn’t do as well in the second half. We were a little lucky but we are happy.
“I ran to the fans behind the goal and they tore all my clothes off!”
No doubt Sampdoria fans will be hoping for more cheeky celebrations from Saponara in the future.
