The New Zealand youth international netted a stunning left-foot strike on his starting debut for Wellington Phoenix in Saturday's 2-1 win over Perth Glory.

The Auckland-born midfielder, who turned 19 on Tuesday, has long been rated as a top prospect for New Zealand and overseas clubs will have taken notice of his latest impact.

“For sure (I want to play in Europe)," Singh said.

"I’m not really too worried about that, I’m still young.

"I’ve just been enjoying my football and working hard. It’ll take me wherever.”

Singh had previously only made half a dozen first-team appearances off the bench but made a big impact when given his starting chance.

The teenager, who signed a three-year deal with Wellington last year, said he didn't want his impact to be fleeting.

"As a young kid, sometimes kids just come in and play one good game and they’re in and out," he said.

"It’s about performing week-in week-out, that’s what the good professionals do.”

Speaking about his goals for the remainder of the season, he added: “Obviously I want to play more games and get used to the level of the league and see where it takes me.”
