The big Aussie central defender has endured a difficult campaign with the Asian champions in 2011 and was reportedly set to leave the club recently, but reaching the final of the Korean FA Cup means he could salvage something from a tough season.

Ognenovski certainly played his part in helping Seongnam progress too, sweeping home the opening goal on 39 minutes.

Jo Jae-Cheol had twisted and turned on the right-side of the box before his cross-cum-shot was only partially cleared by Pohang keeper Shin Hwa-Yong, allowing Ognenovski to lash home the loose ball from close range.

Five minutes later Cho Dong-Geon doubled Seongnam's advantage on a swift counter-attack after Ognenovski's powerful clearance, before Dzenan Radoncic sealed the result on 66 minutes.

Seongnam, who are currently 13th in the K-League, will face Suwon Bluewings in the final of the FA Cup on October 15.

Meanwhile in Japan's J.League, Joshua Kennedy was the hero after scoring a double in Nagoya Grampus' 2-1 win over Kawasaki Frontale.

Kennedy took his season tally to 13 goals with strikes in the 76th and 78th minutes, after Jumpei Kusukami had put Frontale ahead on 66 minutes.

The result keeps Nagoya just one point behind leaders Gamba Osaka who won 2-0 over Kashiwa Reysol.

In Europe, Socceroo Brett Emerton played a full game for Blackburn Rovers as they swept past Sheffield Wednesday 3-1 in the English Carling Cup, with the Aussie providing the assist for the opening goal.

Emerton is expected to officially leave Rovers for Sydney FC today, but could play in the weekend's league fixture against Everton.
