Saudi Arabia are sweating on the fitness of midfielder Omar Al Ghamdi ahead of their AFC Asian Cup opener against South Korea tonight.
The 28-year-old Al Hilal star is suffering from an infection around his Achilles tendon area and underwent an MRI scan on Monday to determine his chances of making the Group D encounter.
"He [Al Ghamdi] had an MRI before training," said Saudi Arabia spokesman Muhammed Al Twaijri.
"We will receive the final report about the infection on Tuesday. The report will determine the injury and how bad it is."
Al Ghamdi didn't take part in Saudi Arabia's final training session at the Gelora Bung Karno stadium on Monday night, watching on as his team-mates played a short game against each other.
Afterwards, skipper Yasser Al Qahtani and deadball specialist Abdulrahman Al Qahtani stayed behind to work on free-kicks, the latter scoring twice.
After tackling South Korea, Saudi Arabia then face co-hosts Indonesia on July 14 before ending their Group D matches against Bahrain four days later.
