SBS are seeking to innovate their traditional World Cup coverage with a daily football show to be hosted on social media platform Twitter.
WorldGame Live will be hosted by Lucy Zelic and Craig Foster and will feature commentators such as Martin Tyler and David Basheer. The show is scheduled to broadcast each-matchday during the tournament.
The show will feature match action, previews, recaps and highlights and follows in the tradition of previous SBS partnerships with Twitter during Eurovision and the Sydney Mardi Gras.
SBS Director of Sport, Ken Shipp, said the deal ws part of SBS' aim of modernising their football broadcasting.
"SBS has been broadcasting football for nearly four decades; it’s a sport that really connects Australia’s diverse communities," he said.
"As one of the most multicultural countries, the 2018 FIFA World Cup is a great moment for us all to come together to cheer on the Socceroos and other teams across the globe.
"We’re always looking for innovative ways to connect our audiences to a range of content on the devices and platforms they use most.
"Sport is something that people love to share and this partnership with Twitter enables all Australians to re-live and share in the excitement.”
