Schroen believes the fixture will pull one of the biggest crowds South have seen in the past 15 years with the club revealing they are expecting around 5,000 fans to pack Lakeside Stadium.

All ends at Lakeside will be open on Wednesday and the club announced they will have food trucks outside the stadium.

Schroen believes South are capable of being the first NPL club to make the FFA Cup Final and can show the footballing world they mean business.

“To be playing back on the national stage for a place in a cup final is really special and to do that against the (A-League) champions at home,” Schroen told FourFourTwo.

“South have massive ambitions to be the best club in Australia, the dominant force that it once was.

“To get what will be the biggest crowd in a long time… it’s where the club should be at, it should be happening every week. The club deserves it moving forward with what they’ve done for the game and the club that it is.

“It’ll be quite special having Lakeside filled out probably for the first time since South moved back there since it was Bob Jane Stadium.

“I think last year when we played the grand final it was half-full and the atmosphere then was crazy as well. If it’s packed out and almost full, sold out then I’m sure the atmosphere will be electrifying.”

Schroen has played 25 games and scored five goals in this year’s NPLVIC campaign and currently works in retail on the side and does some private junior coaching.

He recently finished his Bachelor of Business and Sport Management degree but is also eyeing an opportunity at A-League level.

He was in Melbourne City’s youth squad in the 2013/14 season where he established a relationship with Sky Blues defender Paulo Retre, who he could potentially meet again tomorrow night.

And the 24-year-old is hopeful an A-League club will take notice.

“I’ve had a little bit of interest (from A-League clubs) but nothing concrete come through, so I’m just battling away waiting for an opportunity,” he said.

“Every time you go out on the park you put in 100 per cent and do the best you can and this game is no different.

“It’s another game where we look to move forward in the competition and this time the prize is massive. If we can progress to the final and win silverware on the national stage, it’ll be huge for the club and really push its bid for the A-League.”
