FULHAM'S veteran Australian goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer has admitted he was to blame for Wolverhampton's second goal in Sunday's 2-0 loss in the English Premier League.
The 38-year-old stopper came off his line to claim Stephen Hunt's right-wing cross, but was beaten to the ball by Roger Johnson who headed the ball onto the post before Matt Jarvis hit home the rebound.
The goal came on the stroke of half-time and just minutes after Kevin Doyle had given Wolves the lead in a major blow to Fulham's hopes of getting a result at Molineux.
Schwarzer later admitted on his Twitter account he culpable for the error but hoped to bounce back quickly.
"Very disappointing result, I shouldn't have come for second goal," Schwarzer said. "Bad decision, need to pick ourselves up for Thursday (Europa League clash against FC Dnipro)."
He added: “It was a bad day at the office. We will put things right!”
Socceroo Tim Cahill also took to Twitter to vent his frustration after spurning several chances in Everton's 1-0 home defeat to QPR on Saturday.
"I'm gutted and not much to say," Cahill said. "It's even harder to take after me missing those chances."
Meanwhile, Adam Sarota was also busy tweeting after conceding a penalty in FC Utrecht's 2-1 loss to Vitesse Arnhem in the Dutch Eredivisie.
Sarota's clumsy tackle earned Vitesse a sixth-minute penalty which they converted, however the contact for the challenge clearly occurred outside the box, leaving the Aussie stunned.
“Just saw the replay and saw what i already knew. that it was no penalty!!!! I've never seen a ref make so many bad mistakes. not normal!!” Sarota said.
Sarota's club team-mate Michael Zullo, who was out of the match with a hamstring injury, weighed into the debate on the referee's performance after watching the game from the stands.
“Home from vitesse game. Words cannot describe how angry I am about what I have just seen. Not normal,” Zullo said.
“And just in case you were wondering, I'm not talking about the performance of my team-mates.”
