The Socceroos custodian who will be 38 in October has been in arguably his career-best form this season, helping the Cottagers reach the semi-finals of the Europa League.

On Sunday, Schwarzer proved unbeatable in the 0-0 Premier League draw with Liverpool, following on from a clean sheet in the 1-0 Europa League victory in Wolfsburg.

And Schwarzer told the London Evening Standard: "I'm enjoying myself more than ever, and I'm probably close to being as fit as I've ever been in my whole career.

"I want to keep going as long as I can. As long as I'm enjoying it, and able to play at this level, why not?"

Fulham boss Roy Hodgson added: "Some of the best goalkeepers in the past have gone on to over 40."

Schwarzer's international career beyond the 2010 World Cup isn't clear although it's hoped he will continue for the 2011 Asian Cup.

The Australian shot-stopper also has his eyes on another trophy, believing Fulham can keep their Europa League run alive.

"It's in our own hands. It would be a tremendous achievement for the players and club. We're all fighting for the same cause, we all want to be successful," he said.

"We've got to stay focused and keep determined, and then the sky's the limit for us."

Schwarzer added after Sunday's goalless draw at Anfield: "I thought that the away performance in Wolfsburg was one of the best since I have been at the club.

"We were professional and should have won the game by more than one goal. We wanted to try and back that up and continue the momentum today.

"Liverpool was a massive game for us and to come to Anfield and get a point on the back of Europe was a great result for us.

"We knew that it would be tough, but it was a reasonably comfortable backs to the wall, we were not overpowered and we dealt with things well.

"They played in midweek too, but they are a lot more used to playing in Europe and it is still a learning curve for us."
