Schwarzer, who has played in a UEFA Cup final and been involved in three League Cup finals lifting the 2004 trophy with Middlesbrough, is hopeful the Cottagers can do well in the FA Cup with several of England's big clubs already eliminated.

"The FA Cup is a fantastic tournament to be involved in," Schwarzer told fulhamfc.com. "I've been fortunate over the course of my career to be involved in the latter stages of the Cup quite a number of times."

But Schwarzer is yet to reach an FA Cup final, with the 2005/06 season the closest he's got when Middlesbrough made the semi-finals.

In the following three seasons Schwarzer's clubs, Middlesbrough and Fulham, have been eliminated at the quarter-final stage, but with Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United already out of this season's cup the Aussie senses a chance at Wembley glory.

"It's the most historic cup competition in the world and the way things have panned out so far means it's going to be a very interesting competition this season.

"The one thing we can't do is take Notts County for granted. They're going to come to the Cottage with a lot of confidence having beaten Wigan in the last round. It's going to be a very tough game for us.

"We've come this far in both the FA Cup and Europa League, so why can't we go any further in both competitions? I believe we're good enough to do it but we have to go out there and perform."

The 37-year-old goalkeeper, though, admitted the league remained Fulham's main focus with the club in the mix to qualify for European competition for a second consecutive season.

Fulham are sitting in tenth in the Premier League, having collected seven points from their last three matches.

Schwarzer added: "The way we've been playing, we would liked to have continued playing league games.

"Saying that, the Cup is an opportunity for us to change focus a little."
