Schwarzer was one of major reasons behind Australia's successful qualifying campaign with clean sheet after clean sheet clocked up.

His form for club and country has earned him considerable acclaim and the keeper isn't in the mood to start thinking about a non-footballing career.

Speaking to the Illawara Mercury, he said: "I haven't made any firm decisions yet; physically I feel very strong, very refreshed and if I continue to play well, why not keep going.

"I'm not thinking about life after football. I'm nowhere near finished yet."

Schwarzer is now looking forward to the challenge of next year's World Cup in South Africa and believes the Socceroos can make the trip with optimism.

"I'm quietly confident we can do better. We have a good mix of players who have been to the World Cup and younger players who have the hunger and desire to be there," he said.
