SOCCEROOS goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer says Uzbekistan's 4-0 win over Qatar at the weekend has given the Socceroos a timely wake-up call.

The victory revives the Uzbeks' faltering World Cup campaign, moving them to third on the table.
"I said from day one Uzbekistan are a dangerous side and up until Saturday they had under achieved and were not in the position they should be," Schwarzer said.
"So it just re-affirms how important this game is and how we can't take anything for granted."
And it's for that reason Schwarzer remains on red alert, despite playing behind a defence yet to leak a goal in the last four World Cup qualifier matches.
"We're playing at home and in front of home crowd but we're not just going to go out there and attack and expose ourselves," he said.
"We're in a great position but we need to make sure we capitalise and not get too frustrated if things don't go our way.
"We've played three games away from home and haven't lost. That speaks volumes of the team overall."
He added: "Everyone has worked well together and done the job and not conceded goals."\
At today's training session at Parramatta, Mark Bresciano was a notable absentee from proceedings, while Scott Chipperfield, Carl Valeri and Tim Cahill only turned up to watch from the sidelines.
