Despite having only progressed past the quarter-final stage once in the European Championships since winning it on home soil back in 1964, Spain are highly fancied to go all the way in Austria and Switzerland this summer.

For a nation that has earned a reputation for underachieving on the biggest stage, that favourites tag might sit uneasily on some Spanish shoulders, but for Senna it is no big deal.

"It does not bother me because I think we are favourites, but we have to show it on the pitch," said the Brazilian-born Villarreal player.

"This squad is more united than ever and we are going to show it."

Spain, who are unbeaten in 14 matches, will start their Euro 2008 challenge on June 10 with a match against Russia, before then taking on Sweden and Greece in their final two Group D outings.

Luis Aragones' men will be eyeing top spot but Senna admits it is a group that could hold a few problems for the Spanish.

"We have the obligation of getting through because we have a better team than the other countries, but it is a tricky group," he said in Marca.

"In football teams are becoming better prepared every day, and as such we have to be 100% focused. We have to get through and we could do it in first place," added Senna, who has tipped in-form Liverpool striker Fernando Torres to be one of the stars of the tournament.

"I liked him when he was at Atletico, but now he has tremendous confidence."
