After a goalless first half at the Stadio Silvio Piola, Ibrahimovic put the visitors ahead just before the hour mark when he latched on to Massimo Ambrosini's through ball and fired a shot past Samir Ujkani in the Novara goal.

Robinho made it 2-0 in the 73rd minute and Milan completed a comprehensive win when Ibrahimovic scored his second in stoppage time.

The result keeps Milan within one point of leaders Juve, who defeated Atalanta 2-0 on Saturday, while Novara remain on the bottom of the table.

Udinese are just three points behind the leaders in third place after their 2-1 win at home over Catania, an own goal from Mariano Izco and Antonio Di Natale's strike doing the damage for Francesco Guidolin's men.

In the late kick-off, Inter Milan came from behind to beat Lazio 2-1 at home, extending their winning run to eight consecutive victories in all competitions.

Visitors Lazio led through Tommaso Rocchi's goal 30 minutes into the match at San Siro.

Argentina forward Diego Milito levelled for Inter a minute before the half-time break, and Giampaolo Pazzini completed the recovery when he made it 2-1 on 63 minutes.

The victory lifts Inter above Lazio and into fourth place, six points behind leaders Juve.

Elsewhere on Sunday, Napoli were held to a 1-1 draw at Siena.

Walter Mazzarri's visitors needed an 86th-minute header from Goran Pandev to cancel out Emanuele Calaio's opener for Siena.

Palermo enjoyed their first win under new coach Bortolo Mutti when they defeated Genoa 5-3 at home.

Rodrigo Palacio gave Genoa the lead after 13 minutes, but strikes from Igor Budan, Matias Silvestre and Andrea Mantovani put Palermo 3-1 up at the interval.

Palacio's second - scored from the penalty spot after 59 minutes - made things interesting, but goals from Fabrizio Miccoli and Giulio Migliaccio killed the match off as a contest, meaning Bosko Jankovic's 89th-minute strike was no more than a consolation for Genoa.

Two early goals from Alberto Paloschi gave Chievo the upper hand against Lecce at the Stadio Via del Mare, but the home side hit back through Andrea Esposito.

And when David Di Michele scored in the third minute of injury time, Lecce had done enough to earn a 2-2 draw.

Bologna and Parma played out a 0-0 draw, while Cagliari and Fiorentina also failed to find the back of the net in their match at Stadio San Elia.
