Juventus slumped to a shock home hammering in Serie A tonight as Palermo picked up their first win of the season.

Javier Pastore's early goal set the visitors on their way and Josip Ilicic made the game safe shortly after the hour mark.

Defender Cesare Bovo's superb free-kick added a final flourish, though Vincenzo Iaquinta swiftly pulled a goal back for the Old Lady.

The second-minute breakthrough came when Mauricio Pinilla exchanged passes with Ilicic and saw his shot well saved by Marco Storari, only for Pastore to fire home from the rebound.

Pastore tried his luck again from 25 yards in the fifth minute but was denied by Storari, but Juve's response saw Zdenek Grygera's cross almost deflected into his own goal by Federico Balzaretti.

Simone Pepe shot wide for Palermo before Amauri teed up Alessandro Del Piero at the other end, the veteran also failing to find the target.

Pepe shot over and Juventus then had a chance after a wonderful solo breakaway by Milos Krasic ended with a weak shot which was saved by Salvatore Sirigu.

Pastore's shot was easy for Storari and Pinilla then shot narrowly across the face of goal before Pastore struck the upright when well placed in the six-yard box.

Del Piero saw an excellent long-range effort tipped onto the bar by Sirigu before being denied a penalty when he went down under Mattia Cassani's challenge as Juve failed to level before the interval.

Krasic's weak header was saved, as was Del Piero's 25-yard shot, as the hosts started the second half more brightly. Iaquinta then also tested Sirigu before Del Piero curled a free-kick over.

But the failure to make the most of that spell of dominance proved costly as Storari's highly ambitious cross-shot was weakly flapped away by Storari and Ilicic met the loose ball with a mishit effort into the ground which looped into the far corner of the net.

Sirigu saved Amauri's header from Claudio Marchisio's cross and Krasic's looping outside-of-the-foot cross was headed wide by the same striker.

Krasic then flashed a fierce drive across goal, a replica of Pinilla's first-half near-miss for Palermo, before the visitors extended their lead further in the 85th minute.

Leonardo Bonucci fouled Abel Hernandez 30 yards out and Bovo stepped up to curl a wondrous effort just under the crossbar.

Juventus found an immediate response as Marco Motta crossed and Iaquinta, a half-time replacement for Pepe, beat Sirigu with a downward header.

Krasic went close with another header from Grygera's cross and Chiellini headed Motta's free-kick wide as Palermo held on.
