Juventus returned to the top of Serie A with a 1-0 win over Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico.
Simone Pepe fired the only goal of the game in the 34th minute as Juve overtook Udinese at the top of the table with a game still in hand.
Pepe struck the ball past Federico Marchetti after a fantastic counter-attacking move which ripped Lazio's defence apart.
Novara came from behind to win their second Serie A match of the season as they beat Parma 2-1.
Novara defender Matteo Centurioni scored an own goal in the 29th minute but headers from Raffaele Rubino and Marco Rigoni turned the game around and lifted the Piedmontese side out of the bottom three.
Pablo Barrientos' 90th-minute score snatched a dramatic 1-0 win for Catania over Lecce.
It looked like both sides would claim a point when Barrientos saw his 89th-minute shot superbly saved by Lecce goalkeeper Massimiliano Benassi.
However, there was still time for the substitute to fire home the winner in the dying seconds after being set up by a cross from Maxi Lopez.
In the other game, German Denis' goal was not enough to give Atalanta victory at home to Napoli as Edinson Cavani snatched a 1-1 draw in added time.
