Michael McGlinchey says Central Coast Mariners are "chomping at the bit" to take on Adelaide United in the FFA Cup semi-finals.
Central Coast and the Reds will meet in Gosford in the FFA Cup next week.
The Mariners are coming off a 7-1 win over North Shore Mariners last night.
McGlinchey, who bagged two goals in the big friendly victory, believes his team will head into the semi-final full of confidence.
"Winning a game 7-1 is always good," he said.
"We’ve got a massive month ahead for the club with the FFA Cup semi-final and then the opening game down at Western Sydney. So it’s exciting, a long pre-season but we’re ready for that semi-final now.
"It’s hard sometimes coming into training when there’s not much of a focus on a match at the end of the week. But now we’ve got that semi-final as the next game and everybody ‘s chomping at the bit to start in the game.
"It’s pleasing that we can get seven goals and the manager has a headache to pick the team."
Jordan Murray grabbed two goals and trialist John Roberts a hat-trick in the six-goal win against North Shore.
"We knocked the ball around very well," McGlinchey said.
"We were up 2-0 at half-time and the gaffer said to take our chances, and we did that, which is very pleasing. Whenever you can score goals is pleasing."
