On Saturday, Real Madrid took another step towards the title after beating Deportivo La Coruna 3-1, while Barcelona joined them on 72 points after Ronaldinho, who was later sent off, gave them a 1-0 win over Getafe.

Valencia though are out of the race after going down to a surprise 3-2 home defeat to Villarreal, who moved to within a point of the UEFA Cup places.
