SHANDONG Luneng took the provisional lead of the Chinese Super League after a late goal earned them a 1-0 win over Tianjin Taida.
The two sides looked set to play out a stalemate until Han Peng pooped up with the only goal of the night with five minutes remaining to put the reigning champions a point clear of Henan Jianye at the top of the table having played a game more.
The defeat means Tianjin remain in third place, one point ahead of Shanghai Shenhua who were held to a 0-0 draw away to Beijing Guoan tonight.
