Two goals each from Li Jinyu and substitute Mrdakovic Miljan helped Shandong Luneng collect their first points in this season's Asian Champions League after a 5-0 drubbing of Indonesian side Sriwijaya in Jinan.
Han Peng also found the back of the net as Shandong completely outclassed the visitors, proving the perfect tonic for the Chinese outfit following the disappointing 3-0 defeat at Gamba Osaka in their Group F opener last week.
Li Jinyu put the home side in front with just a quarter of an hour gone when he volleyed in Aleksandar Zivkovic's cross.
It was 2-0 four minutes later as third-choice keeper Dede could only punch Li Jinyu's fierce free-kick half-clear. Zivkovic hooked the ball back in and Han poked home after distracting the Sriwijaya keeper.
Li Jinyu killed the game off with only 25 minutes gone when he rifled home a left-foot finish from the edge of the box, while defender Alejandro Cichero blazed over from close range and Li Wei smacked the post when one-on-one with Dede as Shandong threatened to build on their comfortable lead before the break.
The second-half was understandably a more lacklustre affair although Miljan saw a 69th-minute effort ruled out for offside.
However, the Serbian did net a late double as he claimed Shandong's fourth with 10 minutes to go when he slotted home after substitute Wang Yongpo had squared the ball.
Li Wei then sprung the offside trap before finding Miljan and he converted from close range to complete the rout.
