Ukraine talisman Andriy Shevchenko is a serious doubt for Tuesday’s final group match against England with a knee injury.
The Dynamo Kiev striker scored both goals as the co-hosts beat Sweden in their opening game but after defeat to France Shevchenko is the man the whole nation were looking to as they try and qualify for the quarter finals.
However the 35 year old is a major doubt for the game after missing training with an injury to his left knee.
"He (Shevchenko) has pain in his knee," the Ukraine national team press officer told reporters.
Missing such an integral part of the team for such an important match would be tough for Ukraine but team doctor Leonid Mironov gave fans some hope that he could be available.
"We are working with Shevchenko now. It is not so terrible," he told reporters.
