The 32-year-old club legend was back on duty for Dynamo 10 years after leaving to join AC Milan, and just days after completing his transfer from Chelsea.

Shevchenko made sure of victory with a last-minute penalty after Milos Ninkovic and Andriy Yarmolenko had earlier edged Dynamo in front.

Ninkovic and Yarmolenko scored either side of Ciprian Tanasa's reply in a spell of three goals in five minutes just before half-time.

Dynamo stay top of the Superliga table, with five wins and a draw from their opening six matches of the season.

However Shakhtar Donetsk remain in touch after grabbing their fourth win in five games, winning 3-1 at home against Zarya Lugansk.

Mariusz Lewandowski, Rodrigues Jadson and Kostyantin Kravchenko netted for Shakhtar.
