EXCLUSIVE: Matilda Sally Shipard will be taking part in Movember next month by allowing fans to draw a moustache on her face every day!
All across Australia next month, men will be taking part in the annual Movember charity cause to raise awareness and funds for men's health issues. The midfield Matildas wanted in on the action so has launched her own scheme through the charity.
“Due to my lack of facial hair, I am requesting people to draw a moustache on me every day throughout Movember,” Sally exclusively told au.fourfourtwo.com. “To have the chance to draw a moustache on me, you have to donate to the prostate foundation through my page.”
The idea stemmed from one of Sally’s friends in Perth, who raised “a bucket load of money” from the concept last year. There will be added exposure for Sally though as she continues her playing duties…
“With the W-League being played throughout the month, I will be playing games with a Mo on my face! Melissa Barbieri has already bought the day we [Canberra] play Newcastle [19 November],” said Sally. “The really awkward times will be when I’m on my own, perhaps at the shops, with a moustache on my face! I would hope people would assume what is going on, but that might be tougher than when I am in social situations.”
With ABC broadcasting the W-League, it will be worth catching Canberra's games next month!
You can head to Sally’s ‘Mo Sista’ page here to contribute to this very worthy cause and truly ingenious idea! You can also follow Sally daily exploits during Movember through her Twitter feed: @SalShip.
If you are not able to meet Sally on your day, then you can request which moustache you would like her to sport on your day and she will be posting daily pictures of her 'Mo-of-the-day'. FourFourTwo already have plans for a Salvador Dali special when she heads into our offices during the month! Getting thinking what style you might like to action: the Handlebar? The Zappa? The Fu Manchu? Maybe even a Tom Selleck or a Super Mario?!?
