Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone heaped praise on striker Radamel Falcao, saying the Colombian deserves every bit of his success.
Falcao has already scored 10 goals for the Spanish club this season, which included a hat-trick against Champions League winners Chelsea in the UEFA Super Cup.
Simeone puts the former Porto striker's form down to his 'positive energy'.
"I have known (Radamel) Falcao since he was a child, so lots of things link us both – good and bad," Simeone said.
"We both know what kind of people we are and I just want to say that professionally he's amazing.
"He deserves everything he is getting because of his hard work, character, ambition and belief. That's what has taken him to where he is right now.
"We are happy to have a striker like him amongst us because football is about transmission and he transmits positive energy. I hope he keeps going on."
Simeone said Saturday's trip to Valencia, who are unbeaten in nine La Liga matches at the Mestalla since April, will be a tough test as his side hope to maintain their unbeaten start to the season.
"We are facing a rival that has needs," the Argentine said. "Valencia lost their last game in Seville against Real Betis, they have obligations now and a huge hierarchy amongst their players.
"We are focused because we are aware this game will be similar to last season's first half of the first leg semi-final in the Copa del Rey game.
"Hopefully we'll be ready for the fight because this will be tough one."
