Sydney FC forward Matt Simon will miss the Sky Blues' trip to Perth after receiving a one-match ban for a hit on Melbourne City defender Michael Jakobsen.
The Match Review Panel found the combative Simon guilty of serious unsporting conduct and handed down the minimum sanction on Tuesday.
Simon came on late in Friday's top two clash at ANZ Stadium and appeared to throw his shoulder into the head of Jakobsen, sending him sprawling.
No action was taken by referee Kris Griffiths-Jones at the time.
The MRP released a statement today saying: "The player was cited by the MRP in accordance with the Hyundai A-League Disciplinary Regulations.
"In reviewing the Citation Incident during this afternoon’s meeting, the MRP took into consideration all of the available evidence, including the submissions lodged by the player."
