Newcastle defender Danny Simpson is set to return to training on Monday having suffered no ill-effects from an alleged altercation in Manchester.
The former Manchester United trainee had been at a nightclub with friends including Red Devils duo Tom Cleverley and Danny Welbeck before allegedly leaving alone.
The scuffle is said to have happened at a takeaway, with witnesses present telling The Sun that the 26-year-old looked liked he'd 'had a few' and 'was definitely drunk'.
Simpson was photographed, apparently unconscious, on the floor outside.
Police arrived at the scene after hearing reports of an assault but say a man with minor injuries did not wish to make a complaint.
An ambulance spokesman also confirmed that a man was taken to Manchester Royal Infirmary.
Simpson's spokesman said: "Danny's fine and will be back training tomorrow."
