Skoko has hinted previously that he is keen to put something back into the Australian game and A-League new boys Heart are hoping they can persuade him to sign up.

Skoko, a good friend of Mark Viduka - another player Heart would love to capture - isn't sure whether both he and the V-Bomber would become teammates but he is certainly keen to hear more from Heart.

"For me, the hunger isn't there any more in Croatia and this will be my last season," Skoko told the Herald Sun. "Perhaps I need a new challenge and the Heart could be it. It would be good to meet John v'ant Schip.

''I've already had a few discussions with John Didulica and a big part of me would like to put something back into the Australian game."

Heart are in discussions with numerous players and are being linked with a variety of potential targets.

Sivasspor goalkeeper Michael Petkovic has been mentioned this week with the club also thought to be keen on Sydney FC's Simon Colosimo.
