Skoko struggled for regular first team football under Bruce and earlier this week hinted strongly that he would be looking elsewhere.

Work permit issues mean it will be difficult to secure another English club so a move to mainland Europe is a strong possibility. His likely departure will also alert Hyundai A-League clubs and a return to Australia could prove a tempting proposition for the experienced campaigner.

Bruce told the Wigan Evening Post: "Josip and Salomon Olembe are out of contract this summer and they will be going.

"If there is nothing out there for Josip, he can come back to train with us and see what happens.

"But Salomon is going to play in Turkey, with Julius Aghahowa probably going with him too, which has been known for a while."
