Josip Skoko is not expected to be named in Graham Arnold's Socceroo squad for the Asian Cup tomorrow.
Skoko is set to focus the remaining of his playing days on club football. The player, who is currently mulling over a new contract at Premiership club Wigan, has hinted he may give away playing for the Socceroos since the conclusion of the World Cup.
Clubs in Croatia and Turkey are also looking to sign the midfielder, with a move home to play in the A-League highly unlikely.
Despite scoring a spectacular goal against Greece at the MCG immediately prior to the World Cup, Skoko was unused by Guus Hiddink at the tournament and was known to be devastated after not making the field.
Fans may yet see Skoko play in the green and gold however. He is looking to feature in the side that will face Argentina in September.
