AUSSIES ABROAD: Ex-Socceroo Josip Skoko could end his time with Hajduk Split with some silverware after the Croatian giants defeated rivals Dinamo Zagreb 1-0 to reach the domestic cup final.
The 34-year-old Australian midfielder, who is rumoured to be joining Melbourne Heart when his contract in Croatia expires in May, played a full game for Hajduk in the 1-0 victory in Split.
The result, courtesy of Senijad Ibricic's 51st minute strike, gave Hajduk a 1-0 aggregate win over Dinamo in their semi-final tie and they will now face NK Sibenik (4th in Prva HNL) in the final.
Skoko's Hajduk have had an ordinary league campaign this season sitting out of the title race in fifth, but some cup glory will salvage something for them.
In Romania's Liga I, Aussie winger Spase Dilevski played a full game for Universitatea Craiova as their poor season got worse with a 2-0 loss at bottom-club Unirea Alba Iulia.
Craiova, one of Romania's biggest clubs, are currently 13th and just one point above the drop zone.
In Scotland's First Division, the relegation playoffs looms likely for Ryan McGowan's ninth-placed Ayr United after a 2-0 home loss to Raith Rovers. Young Socceroo McGowan put in a full shift in the defeat.
In England's Blue Square Premier League, James Meredith played a full game for York City as they thrashed AFC Wimbledon 5-0. Meredith's York are fourth in the division and all but certain for the promotion playoffs to League Two.
In Germany's 3rd Liga, ex-Adelaide United defender Milan Susak put in a full shift for SpVgg Unterhaching as they drew 1-1 with Wacker Burghausen. Unterhaching, 14th, are four points above the relegation zone.
In Singapore's S-League, Goran Subara played the full 90 minutes as Gombak United moved to third with a 1-0 win over second-placed Etoile.
