The Slovakia international has been a linked with a move away from Anfield ever since he was replaced in Brendan Rodgers' first-choice team by Jamie Carragher in January.

And his agent Csonto did little to dispel the speculation when talking to Italian station Radio Crc as he hinted at links with Napoli, despite insisting the defender is committed to his current club.

"Obviously Napoli know Martin well, but there cannot be any contact between us and them if they do not first reach an agreement with Liverpool," he said.

"Between Martin Skrtel and Rafa Benitez is a professional relationship that has gone from the years they spent together at Liverpool.

"(Napoli midfielder) Marek Hamsik and Skrtel are very good friends and they met last week.

"The midfielder requested information from Martin about Benitez, while Skrtel has asked questions about Napoli.

"But I think if Napoli want to take Skrtel, they should first talk to Liverpool.

"I will be in England next week to talk with Liverpool and define Martin's future."

The 28-year-old also scored two goals in his 25 appearances for Liverpool last season.
