SOCCEROOS midfielder Jason Culina admitted Australia's passing all over the park simply wasn't good enough against the USA but tried to find a positive in the disappointing 3-1 defeat - the final warm up game ahead of the Germans.
He said Australia would need to find another gear or two against the Germans.
"I'm glad it happened today because it is a bit of a wake-up call for us. We don't like losing, we go into every game wanting to win, and today was no different. You can blame it on being a bit lethargic from the hard training sessions but I don't like making excuses. We just need to stay positive," he told SBS.
The Gold Coast United man conceded that possession had been squandered far too cheaply during the defeat as well.
"Our passing was sloppy, definitely," Culina said. "We were sloppy not only in midfield but also in defence and attack, all over the park. I think it is important to keep the ball and make the other team run and today, at times, it was the opposite."
