The striker, 25, was linked with Wigan yesterday after a potential switch to St Andrews collapsed over personal terms.

But Smith claims he is unaware of interest from the Barclays Premier League club and says he will have no problem naming Boyd in his squad for Tuesday's Homecoming Scottish Cup tie against St Johnstone.

He told the Daily Record: "Nothing has changed as far as Kris is concerned.

"He is training with us as normal and he is still our player.

"He will be in the squad unless something happens to change that situation.

"As for Wigan, I know Steve Bruce well and his assistant Eric Black is pals with Kenny McDowall, so I think we'd know if there was an interest there.

"We have heard nothing from them or anyone else apart from Birmingham."

Meanwhile, reports today suggest Blackpool could move to take Alan Gow back on loan for the second half of the season after he failed a medical at Wolves.
