The Turkish champions recorded a 3-2 win at the Veltins Arena on Tuesday after a 1-1 draw at home to book their ticket for the last eight.

Sneijder, who moved from Inter Milan in January, said he was pleased to be part of the Galatasaray side.

"The win over Schalke is more than anything else a confirmation of something I already knew – that I made the right decision to join Galatasaray," Sneijder told De Telegraaf.

"The most important thing for me is that I get regular playing time again after a difficult time in Italy and that I can be important for Galatasaray."

The attacking midfielder also briefly discussed Friday's draw for the quarter-finals and said he was unfazed by who Galatasaray would face.

"I don't really care who we will be paired with on Friday," Sneijder said.
