Thwaite is due at Socceroo training on Thursday after completing the move from Poland's Wisla Krakow in the last couple of days.

Meanwhile, the Socceroos trained at Bob Jane stadium today. However, the pitch was not in its best condition with Verbeek at one stage asking for a pothole to be covered up in order to prevent injury.

Verbeek was joined by his assistant coach Henk Duut, who flew in yesterday, working alongside Graham Arnold.

At training late this afternoon, Verbeek used Craig Moore and Kevin Muscat in a central defensive pairing in an 11 v 11 game.

Also training with the Socceroos today were talented youngsters Sebastian Ryall and Leigh Broxham, both of Melbourne Victory.

Adam Griffiths sat out training today and received treatment to a thigh injury sustained during Sunday's F3 finals derby.
