The Socceroos only won one match in their disappointing Asian Cup campaign. losing to Japan and Iraq, drawing against Oman and beating Thailand.
Australia had already plummeted to 49th place in the world before the tournament and had been tipped to drop out of the leading 50 football nations in the world.
But FIFA appear to have ignored Australia's performance and kept them in the psychologically-important top 50.
Other nations in the Asian Cup didn't fare as well - China, who also had a shocker in the competition - dropped 12 places to 85th place.
Even Japan - who made it to the semi-finals by beating Australia - also dropped five places down the ranks, now placed at 41st in the world.
The two big gainers from the Asian Cup were finalists Saudi Arabia and Iraq, with Iraq surging 16 places up the ranks to 64th place, and Saudi up 10 to 51st.
Korea also gained eight places to 50th and Iran rose two places to 44th.
At the top of the chart there's no change with Brazil still edging out Argentina, followed by Italy, France and Germany.
England stood still in 12th place and Scotland lost a place from their recent high of 22nd.
