PSV Eindhoven coach Ronald Koeman has slammed Jason Culina's Socceroo duties as "absurd".
But he is relieved that Culina and teammates Jefferson Farfan and Xiang Sun will not be in international action this week.
Xiang and Culina were set to play against one other on Saturday in the friendly between China and Australia, but both have withdrawn with respective knee and stomach muscle injuries.
Farfan has pulled out of Peru`s friendly with Japan in Yokohama after picking up a hamstring problem in Ajax`s victory over PSV.
Koeman, who has allowed Timmy Simons to join up with Belgium for their game with Portugal despite being suspended, voiced his dissatisfaction on Sunday that his already-tired players were being made to play unnecessary games halfway around the world.
"The players go to China, Tokyo and America. That is really too absurd to even think about," the coach told De Telegraaf. "But I must be honest: we knew this when we signed players from those areas."
