Football Federation Australia announced today that the Socceroos legend would make the long trip despite limping off the pitch against Sydney FC on Friday.

The Socceroos fly out today for San Pedro Sula ahead of the November 11 intercontinental qualifier - Cahill's flight is booked for Monday.

Kruse injury doubts linger

Cahill was cleared of a fractured but will require continued assessment and treatment before a determination regarding his eligibility for the forthcoming matches is made, the FFA said.

Socceroos’ medical and coaching staff will continue to monitor the 37-year-old's progress.

The news was not so good for injured VfL Bochum attacker Robbie Kruse who will not make the journey to Honduras.

Kruse remains in the mix though, and will join Mathew Leckie and Mark Milligan (suspended for the away match), in Sydney ahead of the second-leg on November 15.
