“Obviously as a youngster you want to get there but I’ve never really chucked myself in the frame.

“I didn’t know about the name being thrown out there.

Grant conceded he felt wasn’t in career-best form and felt his display against Victory was far from outstanding, with his opponent Mitch Austin scoring his side’s only goal.

“To be fair on the weekend I didn’t think I was that great,” Grant said.

“I made a few mistakes and wasn’t too pleased with myself but everyone was giving me a wrap.

“I’ll take that on board and run with it. I feel like I’m doing okay, obviously there’s always room for improvement.

“I feel like I’m doing pretty well.”
