Ange Postecoglou has confirmed that he will rotate his squad and make several changes for the Socceroos must-win match against Cameroon.
Australia and the Indomitable Lions meet at Saint Petersburg Stadium, with defeat for either side resulting in an early exit from the Confederations Cup.
Postecoglou said he will make at least two or three changes for the Cameroon fixture with three games in just seven days. Massimo Luongo and Aziz Behich could be replaced, while the likes of Robbie Kruse and James Troisi may be given starting berths.
"The nature of the tournament with the games so close together, it doesn’t make sense going in with the same XI," Postecoglou said at his pre-match press conference.
"That’s not going to work, so we’ll make a couple of changes at least for tomorrow."
Cameroon are ranked 32nd in the world but have lost three of their past four matches with defeats to Chile, Colombia and Guniea combined with a win over Morocco. They went down 2-0 to Chile on Sunday.
Postecoglou described the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations winners as "a good side"
"We’ve been tracking them for a while and we’re well aware of what they can bring," he said.
"They showed against Chile in moments, against a very good Chilean side, that they can be very dangerous, particularly in transition. The focus for the game is to make sure we impose ourselves on the game and hopefully get Cameroon worrying more about us."
Cameroonian coach Hugo Broos called the Socceroos direct, with a basic style of play, in his pre-match press conference. But in response Postecoglou gave Broos' comments short drfit.
"A few people in Australia would be pleased with that because that’s how they want us to play," he said.
"All that kind of stuff I guess just comes down to opinions. If that’s his opinion I don’t know what he’s watching but from our perspective we certainly know how we want to play our football.
"The World Cup winning coach saw it differently, so you’ve got two contrasting opinions. You can choose to believe either one."
