The Socceroos will play their World Cup qualifying playoff next month against Syria in Malaysia.
Football Federation Australia has been told the clash will be played on October 5 in Malacca before the Socceroos host Syria on October 10 at ANZ Stadium.
The Syrian Soccer Federation attempted to have the match played in Qatar or the United Arab Emirates.
