Bayswater City 2 (Gustavo Marulanda, Cisco Jorquera)
Inglewood United 2 (Danny Richman (2))

INGLEWOOD United’s four-game winning streak came to an end at the hands of a resurgent Bayswater City.

Goals from Gustavo Marulanda and Cisco Jorquera meant Bayswater went into half time with a comfortable 2-0 lead.

Inglewood showed more of the fighting spirit that we saw against Cockburn to bring themselves back into the game, midfielder Danny Richman scoring a brace within a five-minute spell to earn his side a valuable point.

Cockburn City 1 (Marc Anthony)
Perth SC 3 (Greg Sharland, Trent Kay, Josh Pereira)

COCKBURN City’s season went from bad to worse when they hosted second-placed Perth SC at Dalmatinac Park on Saturday.

A goal from Greg Sharland put Perth 1-0 up after 13 minutes, a lead they carried into half time.

Five minutes into the second half Cockburn were able to pull one back through influential midfielder Marc Anthony.

Trent Kay put Perth back in the lead on 77 minutes and when Cockburn went looking for an equaliser in the final minutes Josh Pereira scored on the break to put the fixture to rest.

Western Knights 3 (Branimir Mikulic (2), Stuart Montgomery)
Armadale 2 (Matty Barlow, James Robinson)

A FIVE-GOAL thriller at Nash Field saw Armadale go down 3-2 to the Western Knights.

The visitors took the lead early in the game when Matty Barlow headed in from a Parys Okai cross.

But five minutes later in-form Knights striker Stuart Montgomery brought the scores level, combining with Branimir Mikulic for a quick counter attack.

After the break Mikulic put the Knights 2-1 up, heading into an open net after Montgomery struck the woodwork.

James Robinson scored a dramatic equaliser in the 88th minute, but the joy of the away fans was short lived when Mikulic scored the winner after two minutes of stoppage time.

Sorrento SC 2 (Todd Harnwell, Daryl Platten)
Balcatta SC 1 (Daniel Neiderberger)

LEAGUE-LEADERS Balcatta SC lost only their second game of the season, going down 2-1 to Sorrento.

On a windy afternoon at Percy Doyle Reserve, Balcatta thought they were off to a dream start when Steven Burton headed in on six minutes, but to his dismay the offside flag was raised.

The hosts then went 2-0 up within the first 20 minutes thanks to goals from Todd Harnwell and Daryl Platten.

Six minutes after the break Balcatta were reduced to ten men when Christopher Thackray received a second yellow card.

Daniel Neiderberger halved the deficit in the 60th minute but it was not enough and the home side emerged victorious.

Floreat Athena 1 (Paul Van Dongen)
Stirling Lions 0

A GLOOMY Sunday afternoon kickoff at E & D Litis Stadium saw Floreat Athena defeat rivals Stirling Lions 1-0 in a hard-fought game.

It was quite even until the 30th minute when James Isaia played a brilliant through ball from the centre of midfield for Paul Van Dongen who did well to round the keeper and score despite the pressure from Stirling’s defence.

The second half saw Stirling dominate most of the play, Floreat happy to sit back and attack on the counter.

But clear-cut chances were what Stirling needed and what they were denied, Floreat holding on until the final whistle.

Mandurah City 3 (Sebastian Bell, Garin Collins, Rafael Insaurralde)
NTC 1 (Blamo Quaqua)

MANDURAH City defeated NTC 3-1 at Hyundai Stadium. Sebastian Bell, Garin Collins and Rafael Insaurralde did the damage for Mandurah, with NTC scoring a consolation through Blamo Quaqua.

NTC results are not contested for points.
