Western Sydney take on Newcastle this Sunday at Campbelltown. A win would see them leapfrog the Jets and place them into the top six.

Sotirio, who has started the past two games for the Wanderers, feels like the wheel is starting to turn both for his team and for himself personally

"I'm feeling good at the moment, my confidence is back up where it was just before my injury," he said.

"I was feeling a little bit low on confidence when I was coming back, but now my confidence is up. I've been playing two 90 minutes in a row and I feel good. Hopefully I can create some assists and score goals for the team."

Sotiro believes Western Sydney can take a lot from their 0-0 draw in the Sydney derby. Remarkably it was the club's first clean sheet of 2016/2017.

"It was very important," the striker said.

"We look at the positives, we got a clean sheet. A clean sheet against Sydney FC, they're coming first so they're a top team. I thought we did pretty well overall as a whole team and I think we were unlucky not to get the three points in the end.

"The clean sheet shows we're getting better every week and improving, hopefully we can get the win now. We're doing the right things, we're creating our chances in the right patterns at training with Popa.

"We just need to a bit more ruthless in the attacking third and I'm sure the goals will come."

Sotirio made his A-League debut against Newcastle back in 2013 at Hunter Stadium. The former Marconi junior is wary of what the Jets will offer on Sunday.

"Newcastle are a quality side, they play well on the counter," he said.

"We have to be careful. This week we're going to focus on how we can hurt them and be ready for the game this weekend."
