Spain coach Vicente Del Bosque says his side will not take anything for granted when they defend the European Championship this year.
Del Bosque's side have been billed as tournament favourites by many pundits, but the 61-year-old has warned against complacency.
"It is very difficult to win in the current football climate," the former Real Madrid coach told reporters.
"And we cannot allow ourselves to think we are the best, because it would be the first step to failure."
Del Bosque added that Spain's recent success, which includes winning the World Cup two years ago, will not affect their campaign in Poland and Ukraine.
"As good players, everything that happened at the last European Championship and World Cup won't affect us.
"It is important to have excitement for a tournament like the Euros."
Spain have been drawn in Group C along with Italy, Croatia and Republic of Ireland.
