BRAZIL international Alex has joined Russian giants Spartak Moscow from Internacional, the player has announced.
The 26-year-old creative midfielder held a press conference yesterday in Brazil where he revealed he was joining the Russian side in a 5million euro deal.
He also revealed that the chance to play Champions League football played an important part in helping him make this decision.
"It is hard to leave your home. I am satisfied because of everything I conquered here and for all the love the fans gave me. It is hard, but I am happy as I built great things here," he told reporters.
"The negotiations were as expected, something positive for me and the club. Spartak have an interesting project with the chance to play in the Champions League."
Alex helped the 'Colorado' to Copa Libertadores and FIFA World Club Cup titles, as well as the 2007 Recopa Sudamericana, the 2008 Copa Sudamericana and three Porto Alegre's State Championships.
He played 128 games for the club, scoring 56 times.
