To see Arnie training the Olyroos at North Sydney Oval...

The Nurnberg defender fully expects Jade North to be part of Graham Arnold's back line but has no idea who else is in the coach's thoughts.

Should Arnold go for a flat back four then North would fill one spot with Spiranovic, Mark Milligan and Adrian Leijer battling it out to join him.

Speaking ahead of the team's training session in North Sydney today, the defender said: "It's important to impress Arnie from day one from the first training session.

"Having Jade North there creates one less spot because he's been there and done it. For the other boys it all comes down to the lead up.

"It's(the New Zealand game)a huge opportunity for us to show Arnie would we can do. All the players are looking at cementing that starting position, there's so much competition for spots which is exactly what you want."

Spiranovic admits he is still coming terms with the fact he's going to Beijing. He said: "To be honest, it hasn't really sunk in yet.

"It's a huge opportunity for all us boys to test ourselves against the best and show what we can do on the international stage.

"Everyone's refreshed and ready to go."

Spiranovic hopes a good Olympics will further his cause for first team football in Germany as well.

He said: "When I do go back I'll be looking to get that spot and hopefully play a full season. It's important for me."

As for Socceroo ambitions and World Cup dreams, Spiranovic isn't going to allow himself to get carried away.

He said: "It's been fantastic. Just being in camp with the boys, I've learnt so much and I'm looking to continue that, just try and stay focused and continue working hard and doing the things I've been doing."
