Spiranovic's Urawa have claimed just three points from the opening four fixtures of the new Japanese season, leaving them in 15th, just one point above the bottom three.

The Australian started and played 75 minutes in Tuesday's loss to Marinos, who struck on 70 minutes through Kazuma Watanabe after ex-Japan international Shunsuke Nakamura's free-kick.

Yokohama sealed the points in stoppage-time through Shohei Ogura.

“It's a very frustrating result. I don't think we played badly at all,” Spiranovic told Reds TV.

“It was a very even game for 70 minutes and then we conceded from a set-piece and that makes it even more frustrating. We had to push in the last few minutes and that's when we conceded the second goal.”

Spiranovic added: “The set-piece, we always knew they were going to be dangerous from there, Nakamura delivers very dangerous balls.

“I think that's what separated the teams today.”

On the performance, Spiranovic said: “I think I had a reasonable game today. The whole team didn't play badly today. In the first-half we were especially very strong. It's just disappointing to lose like that.

“As a team we have to work harder to create more opportunities and more chances. I don't think we created enough. That's not just the strikers' job. It's as a team. That's the area we have to improve on.

“Defensively we were very good as a team but that's what we have to work on.”

Elsewhere on Tuesday, Alex Brosque and Eddy Bosnar both played full games as Shimizu S-Pulse slumped to a 1-0 home defeat to Sanfrecce Hiroshima on Tuesday.

In the AFC Cup, Tolgay Ozbey's East Bengal were officially eliminated after a 4-0 loss at Thai club Chonburi. Ozbey started and played an hour of the clash.
